In The Final Break, the TV movie special which wrapped up the show, Michael finally meets him alleged end. This was thanks to Michael's Dream, that he had during his flatline.Īfter Michael recovered enough to escape, he and Sara flee the company, believing that Michael is cured. The procedure actually helped Michael, as it allowed him to understand elements of the Scylla conspiracy that he didn't before. As Sara watched, Michael started to flatline, before a mysterious serum was injected into his brain, allowing him to recover. The Company operated on Michael, using an experimental procedure that has worked in the past (for Christina Scofield) but was still largely untested. It was a hard but very straightforward choice, Michael's life or Scylla. They promised to operate and save Michael, but only if Lincoln retrieved Scylla for them. Once he was there, they explained to Lincoln and Sara that they could treat him as their medical research is far more advanced than that available to the general public. But when he collapsed while attempting to steal Scylla, The Company kidnapped him and took him to their facility.

When Michael wondered how his brother was able to send him to school, Lincoln told Michael that the money came from their mother’s life insurance. He borrowed money to finance Michael’s college education to the tune of $90.000 not a paltry sum. Lincoln continued looking after his brother even into adulthood. Even early on, he a lready had a number of convictions on his rap sheet, including theft, battery and possession of illegal substances. Lincoln endured a tumultuous youth, starting with his dropping out of high school during his sophomore year and leading to a life marred by crime and violence. After their mother passed away, Lincoln took on the responsibility of caring for his brother and became Michael’s guardian. Lincoln Burrows, often referred to as “Linc” or “Linc the Sink” (a name given to him by other inmates,) is the older brother of Michael Scofield.
